This is the fourth best practice brief, a concise (but meaty) piece detailing research based, authentic, and age appropriate experiences and practices in early childhood mathematics. Sally Moomaw is a clinical faculty member at the University of Cincinnati and the Associate Director for Professional Development at the Arlitt Child and Family Research and Education Center who works to provide a wonderful experiences for current and future early childhood teachers so that they are able to provide the best experiences for their children.

In her brief she provides teachers with ideas to enrich their "math talk" with children and details the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards that align with such mathematics rich conversations. (nmb)
